Nagabaranam Kreedam

This Nagabharanam, Kreedam is being manufactured for a temple by Sri Sivasangara Narayana Panchaloha Sirpa Koodam. Kreedam (crown): This crown is distinguished by its design, which shows Lord Shiva's thick, matted hair (jadamudi). In the center of the kreedam is an inscription of Goddess Ganga, who is a personification of the sacred Ganges River. Devi Ganga is shown on the kreedam with the sun and a crescent moon engraved to her right and left. We create this unique type of kreedam entirely by hand using exquisite artwork. The five-headed serpent on a lotus peetam that has wrapped its body around Shivalingam three times is the Nagabharanam. The serpent's tongues are adorned with red beads.
